Pitching Segworks’ TRACER technology, Alvin Quiñones held the distinction of making it to the ON3 Business Plan Pitching Competition for the second time. Last year, Alvin’s pitch for SEGMEDICA also gained the judges’ nod. The finals will be held at the SMX, Mall of Asia, Pasay City, sometime in July 2012 during the celebration of the National Science Week.

Twenty-five (25) governors will lead a high level meeting at the Philippine International Convention Center on Friday, April 20, 2012, to consider various solutions they can implement in their respective local government units on how to trim down the levels of maternal and child deaths. The Philippines has committed to reduce maternal deaths to 52 per 100,000 live births by year 2015.
Segworks will promote MIHIS or the Mindanao Integrated Health System as a means of tracking LGU compliance.

Eight (8) telehealth solutions were proposed by the teams constituted during the event consisting of nursing, midwifery and IT students, doctors and IT entrepreneurs.
